Tiffany and JJ’s Wedding Reception at River Roast in Downtown Chicago

We recently had the honor of working with Tiffany and JJ for their unique wedding with some fun covid adjustments!

The couple had plans for their wedding of 200 people at River Roast, located in River North in Downtown Chicago this November. However, as we know, 2020 hasn’t panned out exactly as expected for anyone’s plans. This couple wasn’t going to let this hold them back from getting married, so they moved their wedding up a month to October to be able to take advantage of the Chicago weather.

To comply with the current (at the time) covid guidelines and regulations from the City of Chicago, the couple shortened their guest list to under 50 for the first part of the wedding at River Roast, and then had some additional guests for the second part of the wedding (more to come on that!).

Tiffany and JJ held their ceremony at St Alphonsus Church in Chicago. After the beautiful ceremony, the guests all made their way to the outdoor (but heated) patio at River Roast for cocktail hour with DJ Paul Michaels. After a nice dinner (with a few great speeches) all the guests transitioned once again to the couple’s condo association’s parking lot where DJ Shannon was ready to rock with them for an outdoor celebration!

We really love how this couple adjusted their plans throughout the year so they could celebrate their marriage safely with their family and friends!

Annie and Alex’s Destination Wedding in Grand Beach, MI

bride and groom dancing at wedding in grand beach michigan

In times like these, it’s inevitable that couples trying to have the wedding of their dreams will face countless challenges. Thankfully Annie and Alex discovered Paul Michaels Events, which had the pleasure of providing their services for their celebration of marriage in early October 2020.

Their wedding took place in the beautiful, modest village of Grand Beach, Michigan. It started off with a wonderful ceremony near the village clubhouse. The ceremony was filled with familiar faces and voices, with the bride’s brother serving as their pastor,  and the worship pastor from their home church was able to provide delightful musical selections.

The reception took place in the backyard of a lovely house down the road. It may have looked small but looks can be deceiving!

We sent two of our DJs – DJ Brian and DJ Shannon who added a new level of energy and charisma, keeping the guests delighted all night long.

No dance floor, no problem! For this COVID-era wedding, we kept the music bumping, while guests social distanced all night. Our lights electrified the fun lawn games, and with this amazing group of people, the party never stopped!

For Grand Beach being such a small town, we’re pretty sure that this event ranks near the top of the list for the most incredible parties in the area, and we’re over the top that Paul Michaels Events could help make that happen! It was an amazing experience to be a part of Annie and Alex’s special day, and Paul Michaels Events hopes to be a part of many more to come for this couple and their friends!

Melanie and Anthony’s Wedding at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont

In Mid September we were able to help bring Melanie and Anthony’s perfect wedding to fruition. They held the wedding at the Loews O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont. We met Melanie and Anthony back in September (2019) at the Bridal Expo Chicago bridal show at Drury Lane. Right when we met them we knew we had immediately built a relationship with them, and we think at that time, they knew we would be their perfect DJs for wedding.

Melanie and Anthony had a mixed Persian/American wedding that was DJed by DJ Paul Michaels and DJ Shannon. Because of their wedding being a mixed ethnicity wedding, they knew they’d have a few out of the ordinary requests for their DJs. At Paul Michaels Events, we’ve always said that we LOVE unique weddings. Sure, we can do a ‘cookie-cutter’ wedding, but we’d much rather help make our couple’s weddings unique.

For their wedding, we brought out a larger than average sound system to cover the large ballroom at the Loews Hotel, and it sounded awesome!

While we’re always happy to work with couples to play any type of ethnic music, of course, we may not have any of our DJs who are truly familiar the music.

Because of this, the couple additionally hired an Assyrian DJ to play the Persian and Assyrian music, since he’d be familiar with the popular songs, lyrics, etc. We were of course happy to work with him and spend time with him to make sure that we were all aligned before the couple’s wedding to make sure the transitions between DJs would be smooth and that the couple had nothing to worry about.  Of course, we were successful here!

We had a blast rocking with Melanie and Anthony and their guests until 1:30 in the morning!
