Ben’s Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Etz Chaim in Lombard

kids dancing in conga line at Bar Mitzvah

Starting off our 2020 year of events we were honored to be asked by Ben’s family to provide our DJ and entertainment services for Ben’s Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Etz Chaim in Lombard, IL. Paul Michaels Events has had a long history with the family since we’ve already performed at two of his brother’s Bar Mitzvahs in the past!

To rock this party with Ben, we sent Paul Michaels as the Emcee, DJ Alex, and dancers Jamie and Caleb. Right after services ended, everyone started filing into the synagogue’s social hall for the party to begin!

We started playing some games with the kids (and a few select adults who wanted to join in) prior to really kicking the afternoon off! Once everyone was ready, we had a grand entrance for Ben (where he entered to ‘September’ by Earth, Wind, and Fire), followed by a few quick speeches by Ben’s family, and then everyone enjoyed a great lunch buffet. After lunch ended, we got right back at it with more games, and ‘follow-me’ dances for the kids and adults (where we show everyone how to do the dance) and partied with these guys all afternoon!

Mazel Tov Ben!! Thank you again to your whole family for letting us celebrate with you!

We DJ’d at a Baseball Game: The Keshet Organization’s Last Game of the Season

Providing Charity Entertainment in Buffalo Grove

Play Ball!!

Every once in a while, we here at Paul Michaels Events like to switch things up a bit. Yep, sometimes it’s nice to get a break from the formal events, and providing Dj services at a casual event, has its own rewards…especially when it serves a heartwarming purpose. Where kind of casual event you ask? A baseball game.

The morning of June, 23rd was the final game of the Buddy Baseball season at the beautiful Twin Creeks Park out in Buffalo Grove, IL. If you’re not familiar with Buddy Baseball, it’s the ultimate version of the game where everyone plays, hits, scores, and wins! You also get the added fun of having a buddy right beside you the entire game. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?! Thanks to the wonderful people at the Keshet organization, anyone can participate regardless of their abilities. Keshet is internationally recognized for its leading-edge services for individuals with disabilities.

Baseball was the main event, but it was only part of a much bigger picture. Happiness, that was the theme of the day. The game was just one way of sharing a smile with everyone. DJ Brian played his favorite happiness themed songs throughout the game. The announcer never took a break, constantly encouraging every player and getting the crowd to join in the action. It’s not every day that people are able to hear their play by play action being announced on loudspeakers while a crowd of people cheers them on. For these kids involved with Keshet, it meant the world to them to have the opportunity to relish in those special moments. They let you know it too with the huge smiles on their faces.

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in honor children who lost his life due to a medical condition. To give children born with disabilities the chance to do something they may never dream of doing. Most importantly, it was a chance to help improve the narrative as it relates to disabled people.

What a great time we had working with the Keshet organization on this great day of happiness and baseball. And… we did mention… FREE ICE CREAM!!

We had a great time, and look forward to providing entertainment services for them again next season. It was such a heartwarming experience.

2019 Purim Carnival at Congregation B’nai Tikvah in Deerfield, Illinois

DJ Paul and Assistant Jamie just recently had a blast partying with the kids (and adults) at Congregation B’nai Tikvah in Deerfield for their 2019 Purim Carnival!

The event was sponsored by the synagogue’s Hebrew school to give the kids and families a fun way to celebrate the holiday together after Hebrew school was let out for the day. We ran a costume contest where the contestants were able to show off their awesome costumes, and win some great prizes!

Many people look at DJ and event companies as a service primarily for wedding receptions, and corporate parties. While that is where we spend a lot of our time as an event entertainment company, it’s always fun and exciting for us to entertain kids. As a matter of fact, we here at Paul Michaels Events, absolutely love it and those parties are a big part of what we do.

Paul Michaels Events specializes in providing Bar and Bat Mitzvah DJ and Entertainment Services and throughout the Chicagoland area. If you are looking for great entertainment for your son or daughter’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah, contact us to talk about what we can do for you!

West Suburban Temple Har Zion’s 50th Anniversary Gropper Windows Gala

Recently we were honored to be the DJs of choice for West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest when they needed great entertainment for their Gala to showcase their incredible stained glass windows in their social hall.

We got the night started off with speeches, a sung performance of both the United States’ national anthem and Israeli national anthem, and a beautiful 30 minute documentary about the history of William Gropper’s beautiful stain glass windows. After dinner we moved into dancing, where DJ Ian kept the dance floor packed all night!

Thanks for having us and trusting us with your Gala West Suburban Temple Har Zion! Can’t wait to come back for future events!

Cheryl and Josh’s Wedding at DoubleTree Hilton in Arlington Heights

Mazel Tov!  #BetterWeissUp

Cheryl and Josh tied the knot this November where they had their beautiful Jewish Wedding Ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Arlington Heights, IL.

Cheryl and Josh met through a dating app called Hinge, where they exchanged a few messages and ended up going out to an arcade for their first date in Logan Square. They never knew where that date would lead them and how it would bring their lives together!

We provided DJ and audio services for their Arlington Heights wedding ceremony, as well as their Arlington Heights wedding reception.  The room looked absolutely beautiful with our full room uplighting.  After all the wedding formalities, we got the night started and kept a busy dance floor until the very end of the night!

Check out the pictures below for a quick recap of their wedding!
