Kristina and Tim’s Wedding at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel

DJ Paul Michaels and assistant Michael were recently honored to celebrate with Kristina and Tim for their wedding at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel.

Kristina and Tim held their wedding ceremony earlier in the day at Second Presbyterian Church in Chicago. Later in the day when they arrived at the reception venue, the room was ready to go and looked beautiful for them to celebrate with their family and friends.  As you can see in the gallery below, the Renaissance in downtown Chicago event venue space makes for a great place to hold a celebration, with an incredible view of the skyline of downtown!

In addition to a cocktail hour setup for music in the pre-reception area, Paul Michaels Events provided full room uplighting with our elite wedding package which includes moving head lights on lighting totems. Of course, everything went exactly as planned and it was a celebration that will be happily remembered by all!

We had a blast celebrating with Kristina and Tim as well as their family and friends!

Steven and Peter’s Wedding at the Westin O’Hare in Rosemont

30 years together, and 10 years married!

We had the esteemed pleasure of providing entertainment services for Stephen and Peter on June 22. They were celebrating their 10-year wedding anniversary (30 years together) at the Westin O’Hare in Rosemont.

Appropriately, this took place the weekend before Chicago’s Pride festival. It was a beautiful sight to see just how much pride Stephen and Peter took in not only planning a spectacular celebration, but who they are as a couple.

The room was truly a feature presentation that included impressive full room up-lighting and dance floor lighting, their name in lights, and a slide show of their wonderful journey together. Paul Michaels Events also provided their astounding sound system and musical stylings entertainment for their Wedding Reception, of course. Stephen and Peter along with their family and friends filled the room with much a great emotion during their welcoming video presentation.

Even after such an emotional first half of the evening, DJ Trois and DJ Brian had no problem getting people right out of their seats and onto the dance floor after dinner. They started out slow in order to warm everyone up for dancing after a hearty dinner and then BOOM, immediately hit them with that energy that we love bringing to every event.

Stephen and Peter’s musical flavor filled the room with the right vibe, and the flashing lights and a video montage made it almost impossible to leave this party.

If you ever need a couple to give you relationship advice, make a playlist, or even give you dance lessons, Stephen and Peter are the guys for you! We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with, and we are so fortunate to have helped make their 10 year anniversary the celebration of a lifetime.

Kim and Dan’s Wedding at the Chicago Marriott Southwest in Burr Ridge

Kim and Dan came to us as a referral from one of their friends, which is TRULY the best form of flattery we can receive! Their friend who referred them to us knew that we’d take care of them as if we’ve known them for years, which is EXACTLY what we did!

Kim and Dan met on the dating app Tinder (See!? It does happen!) about a year and a half before they met with us to discuss their wedding DJ and entertainment services.

We provided Burr Ridge Wedding DJ Ceremony and Burr Ridge Wedding DJ Reception services for this couple so they could have their dream wedding! For their wedding we also provided our Chicago Wedding Photobooth services, and did a custom name in lights monogram projection (see the pictures below). In addition, we also provided audio coverage for the hallway outside where the ceremony and reception was held, so that guests were able to enjoy music during their cocktail hour while the venue did a ‘room flip’ of the reception hall to convert the ceremony space into an elegant reception space.

Kim and Dan were a blast to work with throughout the planning process, and were a blast the day of the party as well, where we kept their guests dancing from beginning to end!

Liz and Al’s Wedding at Hilton Chicago Oak Brook Hills Resort and Conference Center

What a fabulous way to start the wedding season for 2018! We just had a blast celebrating with Liz and Al for their beautiful wedding in Oak Brook.

The couple held their ceremony at the hotel (in a different room) with a beautifully decorated room, with decor provided by Elegant Event Lighting

For this wedding, we provided full room up lighting (working in coordination with some uplights provided by the decor company), an animated name in lights monogram (see the video below to check out how awesome this looked), and our awesome dancing on the clouds effect as well (again, check out that video below) paired with a custom edit of the couple’s first dance song (where we removed a part of the song they didn’t want to hear).

For anyone who hasn’t read out other event posts, something that sets us apart from other DJ companies is how we build a personal relationship with our clients and want to make sure we’ve done everything to make the event perfect for that client, as opposed to providing a cookie cutter service.

Sofie’s Bat Mitzvah at the NIU Conference Center in Naperville

Naperville Bat Mitzvah Kids Partying

End of an Era

The A-Team Crew of Chicagoland Mitzvah professionals assembled to help Sofie have the best Bat Mitzvah in Chicagoland just a few weeks ago! Sofie is the youngest in her family to have her Bat/Bar Mitzvah, and we’re proud to say that we’ve been the DJs/Entertainment for all 4!

For Sofie’s Naperville Bat Mitzvah we provided full room uplighting, and a name in lights design for the wall to match her theme. As you can see from the pictures below, everything came together perfectly to pull off the “Sofie’s Candy Bar” theme!

We spent the night dancing with both the kids and adults, as well as doing some games, and of course handed out a LOT of candy to Sofie’s guests!

Sofie and Family: Thank you for having us for the 4th time, and we hope that we’ll have the honor of DJing some weddings for you in the (near?) future!

Adrienne and Bryan’s Bull Valley Golf Club Wedding in Woodstock

DJ Paul with Adrienne and Bryan at their wedding in Woodstock IL

Last weekend I was able to provide outstanding Woodstock, IL (Rockford area) wedding reception services for Adrienne and Bryan at Bull Valley Golf Club. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the grass just outside the golf club (as seen in the pictures below).

I’ve known Adrienne for quite a few years now, and had the pleasure of getting to know Bryan throughout our planning process. For this wedding I was able to be extremely involved in the wedding planning process (outside of entertainment services) and was happy to help Adrienne and Bryan make many decisions and influence so many of their choices.

The golf club had an interesting setup, which I was able to see in person during my customary in-person site/venue walk a few months prior to their wedding. We had all of the tables for dinner and speeches set up in an adjacent room to our main setup and dance floor. This added an extra level of complexity in terms of set up for Assistant Jon and me. We set up two speakers in the dining area which were connected wirelessly to the main system. This made it so we were able to make sure all guests could clearly hear the speeches and announcements while they were in their seats. The alternative (and what many would do here) is to set up one or two speakers closest to our main DJ set up, and then crank them up so everyone in the other room could hear everything. This would work, but it would more than likely make the guests sitting close to those speakers pretty angry with us blasting everything through their ear drums. We were all pretty pleased with this wireless setup.

Some of the other services we provided are full room uplighting for both rooms, as well as a custom name in lights monogram which was projected over a very large wall in the dancing area/room. Originally we hadn’t planned on having these add-ons, but as I got to know Adrienne and Bryan, and their vision for their wedding, I knew what was needed to bring their dream wedding to life!

Adrienne and Bryan: It was truly a pleasure working with you to make this dream day a reality! I can personally say that I know all of your guests had an awesome time celebrating with you, to the point that one of them even ripped his slacks while dancing (pictured below)!  Looking forward to seeing you in the future at your friends’ weddings, and I hope you had an amazing time on your honeymoon in Antigua!

Melissa and Joshua’s Wedding

Hilton Lisle Naperville Best Wedding DJ Blog Cover

Along with Assistant Joe’s help, I just completed Melissa and Joshua’s Naperville Wedding at the Hilton of Lisle/Naperville. Their ceremony was held at the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church in Naperville. There were a few technical difficulties with the building (apparently the building had a power outage just hours before we got there), but we worked through it and got creative in order to make sure that the wedding was not phased by the issues and we pulled off a wonderful ceremony which was co-officiated by Reverend Denise Tracy and Melissa/Joshua’s friend, Brandon. The ceremony included items from both Melissa’s and Joshua’s background, including the San San Kudo ceremony (Japanese) and the glass smash (Jewish) traditions.

Back at the Hilton we were able to get the room looking wonderful before anyone arrived. For the reception, we had three rooms (combined) in an L shape which worked really well to make sure we had a large dance floor, a nice bar area, and a seating area. We used full room uplighting, as well as a monogram/name-in-lights add-on at this wedding as you can see in the pictures below. Melissa and Joshua worked with me to decide exactly what they wanted their name in lights to look like beforehand. During the venue site-walk before the wedding, I had a feeling that the room where all the tables for dinner were located would seem a little more empty/less exciting than the other two rooms, so I recommended the name-in-lights add-on, which turned out amazing!

We also (as can be seen in the pics) used the dancing on the clouds effect. This was a complete surprise to almost everybody except immediate family. The effect turned out great and everyone loved it!

We had Dave from Jolie Images (who I’ve worked with many times) as the photographer for the entire day. He took some really great shots of everything from group line dances to the horah as we had a packed dance floor from beginning to end!

Congratulations again to Melissa and Joshua! Thanks for having me be a part of your very special day!
