Tiffany and JJ’s Wedding Reception at River Roast in Downtown Chicago

We recently had the honor of working with Tiffany and JJ for their unique wedding with some fun covid adjustments!

The couple had plans for their wedding of 200 people at River Roast, located in River North in Downtown Chicago this November. However, as we know, 2020 hasn’t panned out exactly as expected for anyone’s plans. This couple wasn’t going to let this hold them back from getting married, so they moved their wedding up a month to October to be able to take advantage of the Chicago weather.

To comply with the current (at the time) covid guidelines and regulations from the City of Chicago, the couple shortened their guest list to under 50 for the first part of the wedding at River Roast, and then had some additional guests for the second part of the wedding (more to come on that!).

Tiffany and JJ held their ceremony at St Alphonsus Church in Chicago. After the beautiful ceremony, the guests all made their way to the outdoor (but heated) patio at River Roast for cocktail hour with DJ Paul Michaels. After a nice dinner (with a few great speeches) all the guests transitioned once again to the couple’s condo association’s parking lot where DJ Shannon was ready to rock with them for an outdoor celebration!

We really love how this couple adjusted their plans throughout the year so they could celebrate their marriage safely with their family and friends!

Sara and Brad’s Wedding at the Surf Hotel and Chateau in Buena Vista, CO

What an incredible day for Sara and Brad!

The challenges of 2020 couldn’t stop Brad and Sara because they could not wait to marry each other. While Brad and Sara are originally from Chicago, they moved to Denver. So, they wanted to have a Destination Wedding to share what they love about Colorado with their family. So, they brought their family out to Colorado, and they also brought Paul Michaels Events!

The wedding took place in Buena Vista, Colorado, a cute town on the edge of the mountains. The venue, the Surf Hotel was right in the center of town but also had beautiful views and nature in every direction. The ceremony took place outside overlooking a river and gorgeous scenery. Paul Michaels Events provided the sound and equipment for the ceremony. It was a very special ceremony because it was officiated by the Bride’s aunt!

Guests enjoyed a lovely cocktail hour outside the ballroom, before filling into the ballroom and enjoyed a delicious dinner. Brad and Sara enjoyed their first dance together as a couple, and then they each shared a dance with their Moms! When the dance floor opened, it immediately filled with both friends and family enjoying the music and celebrating Brad and Sara. DJ Paul Michaels played some current favorites and some of the couples favorite throw-backs. As the celebration on the dance floor continued, guests enjoyed a photobooth and a courtyard area that had an outdoor fireplace blankets. If the smoothness of a wedding is any indication of the couple, then Brad and Sara have nothing to worry about because the wedding couldn’t have been more perfect.

We are so glad the Brad and Sara included us as part of their destination wedding. We wish them many years of happiness and adventures together.

Stephanie and Tim’s Wedding at the Lighthouse Lodge in Monticello Indiana

We all know that 2020 has been a very difficult year, but in the midst of everything that is going on Stephanie and Tim were still able to celebrate their wedding. They had a beautiful outdoor, lakeside wedding at the Lighthouse Lodge in Monticello, IN where we provided their Indiana wedding DJ Services and destination outdoor wedding ceremony DJ services.

The Lighthouse Lodge was a perfect venue for Stephanie and Time to hold their wedding and was able to have their wedding ceremony a few feet from the water with the scenery being absolutely gorgeous, as seen in the pictures below.

After the ceremony everyone was able to enjoy the cocktail hour on the lawn just next to the ceremony site. We were lucky enough to work with violinist Rachael Miller once again. Rachael played live cover songs on her electric violin, which was a nice change in pace, and an exquisite surprise for the Stephanie and Tim’s guests.

When the cocktail hour was complete the guests were seated on a outdoor deck that sat right on top of the water. Once everyone finished dinner, it was time to get the dance floor going and we didn’t want to disappoint! Stephanie and Tim chose a variety of music that covered a lot of genres and DJ Shannon was able to add his flair to make sure their dance floor stayed busy! The dance floor had an amazing amount of energy and Rachael was able to play along with our music and improvise as she went which totally had the guests amazed.

Stephanie and Tim decided to extend our services for an extra hour because they just didn’t want to let the incredible night end! We had an amazing time working with Stephanie and Tim and wish them both the best in their very bright future.

Agata and Rui’s Wedding at the Redfield Estate in Glenview, IL

In August, DJ Terry was able to take our Chicago based Dj services to help Agata and Rui celebrate their wedding at the beautiful Redfield Estate in Glenview, IL.

The bride, being Polish was able to bring a lot of her family members from Poland, while the groom (Rui) was able to have a lot of his family come in from China. We’ve done a lot of mixed culture marriages in the past and we know how lucky this couple is to be able to have so many family members fly in for their wedding. It was a culture clash that just felt right.  Our favorite moment was during the wedding toasts when each speech utilized a translator for both polish and mandarin, so every speech was done in 3 languages (English, Polish, Mandarin).  It was quite impressive, and much appreciated for the visiting guests.

The weather was perfect on this day which took place entirely outdoors at the Redfield Estate.  The ceremony took place next to the mansion, and then after just a short walk down the path, dinner and dancing happened in the pavilion.  We were treated to many Chinese and Polish traditions throughout the night.

We had the great privilege to be able to watch a very untraditional video dedicated to the bride and groom made entirely of stop-motion sand art. When the couple said they wanted to be able to show a video that was made for them by a family member, we of course said we’d be able to handle this in terms of providing, testing, and setting up a screen and video projector for this special presentation.

Check out the pictures below where it looks like Agata and Rui got everything they wanted and more from DJ Terry and Paul Michaels Events, and left as happy as could be!

Chicago Pride Parade with KPMG

Happy Pride, KPMG!

Paul Michaels Events recently was asked to provide full sound reinforcement for KPMG on top of their double-decker bus for Chicago’s 50th annual Pride Parade. If you’re not familiar…which we don’t know why you wouldn’t be, the parade takes place through the Boystown neighborhood in the City.  It is definitely not a small ordeal as this parade usually brings out over 1 million people in the Chicago area!

KPMG had an incredibly well-branded bus that their employees were proud to walk next to while sporting KPMG balloons and giveaways!

DJ Trois and DJ Paul Michaels provided four speakers and a full DJ system, all run off a mobile generator to keep us running independently from the bus. As we’ve mentioned in past posts, we make sure to take care of all the minute details when we’re asked to perform at any event. For this event, we did a ‘site walk’ to check out the double-decker bus at Chicago Trolley and Double Decker Co to determine exactly what we’d needed in order to make sure we were doing possible to ensure that this event was the PERFECT event for KPMG

As with any outdoor event, the weather is always a concern, and although we did everything we could within our scope of control to make this a perfect event, mother nature had a different plan. Just as our bus was about to start moving to show out in the parade, the sky opened up and an unbelievable storm rolled in. Unfortunately,  that forced the parade to be canceled.

The day wasn’t a total loss, however, because the party began way before the parade was set to begin. Our friends from KPMG were able to hang out and party for pride in the bus staging area before the storm joined us!

Check out some of our pictures from the parade below!

Amanda and Michael’s Emerson Creek Pottery and Tearoom Wedding in Oswego

Amanda and Michael with Paul

Amanda and Michael tied the knot in September 2014. They chose a really unique venue to have their wedding, the Emerson Creek Pottery and Tearoom in Oswego, IL.

It ended up being a perfect day (weather wise) in September, and the outdoor ceremony by the tree was beautiful!

Amanda and Michael, thank you for letting me be a part of your very special day!
