Amelia and Kalash’s wedding at The Study Hotel at the University of Chicago was a picture-perfect day full of intimate moments and lasting memories. It was clear from the start that this was going to be a celebration like no other—one that blended modern elegance with a relaxed, playful spirit, all set against the backdrop of a venue that combines academic grace with contemporary style. DJ Tyler from Paul Michaels Events had the pleasure of providing the soundtrack for this special day. Amelia and Kalash opted for our wedding experience package, which offered just the right touch to complement the warm and inviting atmosphere of their celebration.

The day began with a lovely “mocktail hour”, where guests were treated to light, classic tunes. The soft background music set a sophisticated yet relaxed tone, allowing everyone to settle in and enjoy drinks and conversation in the refined setting of the Study Hotel. Guests were soon immersed in the interactive atmosphere of the reception, with many enjoying the unique touch of board games at their tables and others stepping outside to toss a game of cornhole in the courtyard. It was a laid-back and engaging setting that invited everyone to relax and enjoy themselves in a way that felt personal and thoughtful.

One of the highlights of the day was Amelia and Kalash’s grand entrance. In a fun and nostalgic twist, the couple made their way into the reception to the playful tune of “You Got a Friend in Me” by Randy Newman. It was a lighthearted and joyful moment that captured their personalities perfectly and added a spark of fun to the afternoon.

As the day continued, one of the most special moments arrived: Amelia and Kalash’s first dance. They chose “L.O.V.E.” by Nat King Cole for this tender moment, and it was absolutely beautiful. The classic, romantic song set the perfect mood as the newlyweds swayed together, inviting other couples to join them on the dance floor and share in the celebration of love. It was a touching scene that underscored the warmth and intimacy of the day.

DJ Tyler kept the atmosphere going with a carefully curated mix of pop hits and timeless classics, creating a soothing yet engaging vibe that was perfect for an afternoon celebration. But the music didn’t stop there – to honor Kalash’s Jain heritage, DJ Tyler expertly blended in some traditional Bollywood tunes, adding a personal and cultural touch to the event that made everyone feel included. The mix of musical styles kept the energy flowing while celebrating the uniqueness of the couple’s backgrounds.

As the evening came to a close, Amelia and Kalash wrapped things up on a high note. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they hit the dance floor for one last hurrah, dancing the “Cupid Shuffle” with wide smiles and laughter all around. It was the perfect ending to a day filled with joy, love, and celebration.

Amelia and Kalash’s wedding was a true reflection of who they are—thoughtful, warm, and full of love. From the heartfelt ceremony to the fun and interactive reception, every detail was carefully planned to ensure their guests had an unforgettable experience. We’re so honored that they chose Paul Michaels Events to be part of their big day, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together!
