Becky & Nate’s Cherished Wedding Reception at The Grand Aberie in Chicago’s Greektown

Bride and groom dancing and having the time of their lives

Before September ends, we still have a couple more fantastic weddings we get to play a major part in. One such wedding was for Becky and Nate, who had loved ones gather to celebrate them at The Grand Aberie in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. Their wedding was a beautiful and memorable event. Because timing of good music was so important to the couple, as well as keeping the energy flowing, it only made sense for them to choose us for their Chicago DJ reception services. As part of these services, we provided our wedding base package.

Becky and Nate’s reception was a unique experience for everyone involved. For starters, the couple actually traveled here from Rhode Island to have a beautiful reception with their loved ones! They actually tied the knot back in June, with their ceremony taking place in Maine (and though we were not there, we can imagine it was just as lovely as their reception!).

The evening kicked off with a delightful cocktail hour, where guests mingled and enjoyed the lovely ambiance. Transitioning from the cocktail hour, it was time for guests to grab dinner from the open buffet (provided by the amazing Kuma’s Corner) and find a seat. As guests settled down, Becky’s father, Nate’s brother, and Nate’s best man took the stage to share some heartfelt speeches, leaving everyone in tears of joy. These speeches added a personal touch to the celebration, making it even more special.

Then came the highly anticipated first dances. The new bride and groom shared a romantic moment on the dance floor as they swayed to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli. Just as they couldn’t take their eyes off of each other, neither could their loved ones as they watched them rock back and forth. Following their dance, the bride and groom separated to share their individual dances with their parents. Finally, it was time to invite everyone to join them on the dance floor for the remainder of the reception.

Before you could blink, the dance floor came alive with energy and excitement. All the ladies brought a vivacious energy to the dance floor as Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” narrated the bouquet toss. The crowd also came together to fill the room with an amazing vibe as they performed the Horah. From start to finish, DJ Wesley and DJ Paul made sure to curate a playlist that catered to all musical tastes, ensuring that everyone had a fantastic time. From classic hits to the latest chart-toppers, they seamlessly transitioned between songs, keeping the dance floor packed and the party going strong. The grand finale of the night was marked by the iconic song “Sweet Caroline.” This crowd favorite brought everyone together, creating a sense of unity and joy. Becky and Nate were thrilled with how the night unfolded, and their satisfaction was evident as they joined their loved ones in singing and dancing to the infectious rhythm.

Cheers to Becky and Nate! We thank you for choosing Paul Michaels Events to celebrate your beautiful reception, and wish you both all the happiness in the world.

Quinn & Kevin’s Classic Wedding at Morgan’s on Fulton in Chicago’s Fulton Market

Bride and groom in the middle of the dance floor dancing to the beats of the best Chicago DJ wedding company

September proved to be an amazing month full of some of the best weddings we’ve ever been a part of. One such wedding was for Quinn and Kevin, who tied the knot at the dazzling Morgan’s on Fulton. Located in Fulton Market, this 3-story venue proved to be the perfect location for these two to celebrate with their loved ones and dance the night away. To make sure their wedding day was everything we dreamed of, we provided our wedding base package as part of our Chicago DJ wedding company services.

The evening kicked off with a beautiful ceremony hosted on the second floor of this charming venue. The setting was perfect; as the sun set, it bathed the couple in warm, golden light that made the ceremony all the more ethereal. Kevin’s sister, Lauren, had the honor of acting as their officiant, and shared the background of their beautiful love story. Kevin’s other sister, Rachael, also had the honor of sharing a reading as part of the ceremony.

The magic continued outdoors on the venue’s rooftop. After the bride and groom made their grand entrance to “Born to be Yours” by Kygo, they shared their first dance to “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac. Then came time to hear some heartwarming speeches were heard from their loved ones – first came Hanna, Quinn’s maid of honor, and then Nick, Kevin’s best man. Before dinner stations opened, Quinn’s father shared some words full of love for the coupe. After guests then enjoyed a delicious dinner, the newlyweds gave a welcome speech and then each shared special dances with their parents.

One of the standout moments of the evening was the anniversary dance. It’s worth noting that it even felt like a record for Paul Michaels Events DJ Company as two couples (Quinn’s grandparents and their best friends) at the celebration had been together for a remarkable 62 years! The love and commitment in the room were truly inspiring.

After they each offered some words of love for the newlyweds, it was time to get the party started. The rooftop atmosphere was perfect, with the beautiful night sky as our backdrop. The guests lit up the night sky with glow sticks while DJ Brian laid down the tunes. He spun an eclectic mix of tunes that catered to guests of all ages and tastes. With songs that ranged from Taylor Swift to Earth, Wind and Fire, everyone found their groove and danced the night away. To conclude an epic evening, the last song of the night was “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. Kevin has ended every party since high school with this song, so his wedding could be no exception! Everyone belted their hearts out as they swayed to this classic.

Quinn and Kevin were a wonderful couple to celebrate with, and we are so thankful to have helped make their celebration of love one to cherish forever. Congratulations to these newlyweds! We wish them a lifetime filled with joy, laughter, and endless happiness.

Tom & Katie’s Stunning Wedding at JW Marriott Chicago in Downtown Chicago

Bride and groom surrounded by friends and family at their wedding

2023 has been filled with some of the most spectacular weddings, and Katie and Tom’s wedding was no exception. We recently had the honor of being a part of their dream wedding at the JW Marriott in Downtown Chicago. This is absolutely fantastic, with a wonderful staff and a building that pays homage to the rich history of the city. We were so excited to be a part of the festivities, and wanted to make sure we could prove that we are the best Chicago wedding DJ. To live up to this expectation, we provided our wedding elite package, plus some LED foam sticks for the dancing portion of the evening.

Excitement was in the air as guests gathered to celebrate these high school sweethearts. The wedding ceremony took place in the Burnham Ballroom, with the officiant being a family member from the bride’s mother’s side of the family. It was such a sweet ceremony, with barely a dry eye in the room! Following the ceremony, guests celebrated and mingled during cocktail hour, which took place in the hallway outside as the Burnham Ballroom received a complete transformation. The lovely tunes of a live string quartet serenaded the space. Once everyone re-entered the room, they were greeted by life-size light-up letters spelling out the couple’s last name, adding a personalized touch to the celebration.

As guests found their tables, it was time to introduce the bridal party. First up was Katie and Tom’s parents, who made their introduction to “Good Vibrations” by Marky Mark. Next up came all 13 of the bridesmaids and groomsmen, followed up by our lovely bride and groom. The cheers from the crowd was more than twice the sound of “Levels” by Avicii playing as they made their entrance. Transitioning from their entrance, Katie and Tom shared a lovely first dance to “From the Ground Up” by Dan + Shay, then cut their cake as “Make it Sweet” by Old Dominion played in the background.

The bride and groom gave a welcome speech after Katie’s dad greeted the room with a toast. Before dinner began, their officiant presented a blessing. Dinner from the venue was well enjoyed as the maids of honor and best man shared some hilarious yet thoughtful toasts to the couple. After dinner, it was time to get the party started by opening the dance floor! The bouquet toss got all the ladies on the floor with Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” enticing them to come join the fun.

Tom’s family is Croatian, so you can bet that the dance floor was high energy from start to finish! DJ Paul started off with some Croatian hits and wedding classics, then as the night progressed, transitioned to some popular R&B/hip hop songs and some of our favorite y2k hits. He also made sure to play Cotton Eyed Joe for the cousins, though everyone had fun with that song! At one point in the night, he let Tom behind the DJ booth so he could play a set for his guests. Overall, DJ Paul kept the energy high and the dance floor packed until 2am, ensuring that Katie, Tom, and their friends had a night to remember.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! We are so honored to have been a part of your big day, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Ismarie & Allen’s Wedding in the Stars at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium

Bride and groom on the dance floor mingling with their guests while dancing to the best Chicago Wedding Entertainment DJ Services, Paul Michaels Events

As we find ourselves immersed in the vibrant tapestry of 2023, love continues to take center stage, unveiling stories of unity and joy. A celebration that was as unique as it was heartwarming, we were delighted to be a part of Ismarie and Allen’s wedding, which took place at the Adler Planetarium. From our vast list of Chicago wedding entertainment DJ services, our wedding base package ensured perfection for this special occasion.

The date was extra special as the couple had just celebrated 6 years of being together the day before. The couple chose to unite both their ceremony and reception in a single space, fostering an atmosphere of intimacy and seamless transition throughout their special day. Ismarie and Allen read to each other their custom vows, which didn’t leave a dry eye in the room. You could feel the love spoken with every word as the ceremony progressed. Following their heartfelt “I Do’s”, it was time to celebrate and mingle during their cocktail hour, which was held in the Welcome Gallery.

Heading back to the Solarium for the remainder of the reception, guests eagerly awaited for the bride and groom to make their introduction. The culmination of anticipation greeted the couple as they made their grand entrance into the reception, setting the stage for a night of pure joy. The resounding notes of “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness serenaded Ismarie and Allen as they entered the room, a fitting prelude to the elation that awaited. Infusing their passions into the celebration, Ismarie and Allen’s love for Star Wars added a touch of whimsy and creativity to their wedding day. During the cake-cutting ceremony, the couple’s light saber handles brought a playful twist to tradition, and the resounding chords of the iconic Star Wars Theme reverberated, eliciting smiles and camaraderie.

One of the evening’s standout moments was the newlywed’s choreographed dance to “Dancing In The Moonlight” by King Harvest. All eyes were on Ismarie and Allen as they swayed across the dance floor in perfect harmony. Their dancing could’ve put a Dancing with the Stars contestant to shame! Following their gorgeous first dance, Ismarie and Allen both shared their special dances with their parents. Both dances were beautiful to witness and you could certainly feel the love in the room. Following this, it was time to invite everyone to join the couple on the dance floor for the remainder of the evening.

DJ Shannon’s masterful fusion of diverse musical genres made the dance floor come alive with an energy that reverberated throughout the evening. He kept the party going by playing classic artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Sammy Davis Jr, while also incorporating some of today’s hit music such as Bad Bunny and top 40. The sounds of Regaetton also got the dance floor moving. At one point during the evening, the dancing paused so everyone could participate in the Shoe Game. Laughter rang throughout the space as the bride and groom held up their shoes to indicated which partner shared certain qualities. The end of the night concluded with one last dance to “Jaja Ding Dong” from the movie “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga”. The lighthearted tune from the recent comedy was the perfect way to encapsulate the evening.

The essence of Ismarie and Allen’s personalities radiated throughout the day, woven into every intricate detail. With the backdrop of the Adler Planetarium, personalized touches, and a curated playlist that resonated with the hearts of all, their wedding blossomed into an unforgettable experience. As we reflect on the luminous celebration that marked the union of Ismarie and Allen, we are honored to have been part of their journey.

Kristen & Kevin’s Cherished Wedding at The Chicago Botanical Garden in Glencoe, Illinois

A bride hugging one of her bridesmaids in the middle of the dance floor, dancing the night away to one of the best Chicagoland wedding entertainment DJs, Paul Michaels Events

We find ourselves immersed in the heart of 2023, where weddings continue to grace our lives with love, celebration, and enchantment. Recently, we had the privilege of joining Kristen and Kevin as they embarked on a new chapter of their journey together at the breathtaking Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe, IL. As the best Chicagoland wedding entertainment DJ, they knew that Paul Michaels Events was the perfect choice to orchestrate the soundtrack to their own special day. Fun fact: they actually witnessed us in action at a friend’s wedding in Dallas, who was also part of their wedding party!

While the ceremony was offsite, the celebration itself commenced with a splendid cocktail hour, set against the picturesque backdrop of the English Garden. Guests reveled in the beauty of nature while indulging in delectable hors d’oeuvres. The enchanting melodies of background music added an extra layer of charm to the atmosphere, setting the tone for the festivities.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the celebration moved indoors to the Nichols Hall. The transformed room radiated with elegance, adorned with impeccable decor that seamlessly reflected the couple’s vision. Amber-colored uplighting cast a warm and inviting glow upon the walls, harmonizing perfectly with the theme of the wedding. While everyone was already in great spirits following cocktail hour, the energy increased tenfold as the formal introductions were made. First up was the bridal party, who waltzed into the room to “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. Following them came the guests of honor themselves, who entered to the perfectly fitting lyrics of “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce and Jay-Z. Keeping the moment sweet, Kristen and Kevin cut their cake to “Lover” by Taylor Swift”.

In a touching tribute to Kristen’s late father, each guest found a can of Miller Lite at their seat. As Kristen’s mom stood to make a toast to the newlyweds, she invited everyone to raise their Miller Lite cans as a heartfelt homage that united everyone in a moment of remembrance and celebration. Guests enjoyed a lovely dinner while listening to some wonderful speeches by the bridal party. First up was Kristen’s matron of honor. Kevin’s best man followed after her, and then his father stood to make a speech. Following these lovely speeches, the couple shared their first dance to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, which was a captivating spectacle that touched the hearts of all who witnessed it. They then broke off to have their own individual dances with their mothers.

Finally, it was time to invite everyone to join them for dancing. The dance floor beckoned, and the guests followed the call. It was a night of pure exhilaration as DJ Paul and DJ Tyler unleashed an irresistible playlist. The best country and pop music played, including plenty of Taylor Swift favorites. There were also some rap songs sprinkled into the mix, as the night progressed. The dance floor came alive with vibrant energy and didn’t slow down the entire evening. The event concluded on a high note, with the promise of a bright future ahead for the newlyweds.

Kristen and Kevin, your wedding was a true celebration of love and joy. We extend our deepest gratitude for entrusting Paul Michaels Events with the honor of being a part of your special day. Your story of love and unity will continue to inspire us, and we eagerly anticipate the joyous celebrations of your friends’ weddings, where we can once again infuse the magic of music into unforgettable moments.

The magic commenced with the enthralling performance of a live string band during the ceremony. The melodies that filled the air added an extra layer of grace and romance to the atmosphere, capturing the hearts of all in attendance.

Following the ceremony, guests headed into The Arbory’s entrance room to partake in cocktail hour while staff performed a room flip. Guests mingled with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails until it was time to head back to the Skylight Room for the remainder of the reception. As if the energy wasn’t already in high spirits, the vibe seemed to elevate even more as the wedding party made their grand entrances into the room. First up was each of the parents, followed by the bridesmaids and the groomsmen. Last, but certainly not least, came the the bride and groom, who entered and immediately transitioned to their first dance. Rajesh and Susana swayed to “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar featuring H.E.R., all eyes on them and all hearts full of love.

As guests enjoyed a lovely dinner buffet, both Susana and Rajesh’s parents shared some speeches in honor of the bride and groom. There was laughter, there were tears, but mostly, there was love as they shared their heartfelt toasts with the room. Following the parents, Rajesh’s best man and Susana’s matron of honor got up to share their own speeches for the couple. Rajesh and Susana then stood to thank everyone for being a part of their special day before breaking to share their dedicated dances with each of their parents.

The day up to this point had been full of so much love and gratitude. But now, it was time to open the dance floor and get the party started! DJ Shannon curated an exhilarating playlist that spanned across a range of musical genres. From mainstream hits to Latin rhythms and Indian beats, the dance floor came alive with music that resonated with guests from diverse backgrounds, creating an atmosphere of unity and pure joy. Guests danced the night away, culminating in an atmosphere of pure exhilaration and happiness. To close off the evening, everyone shared one last dance to “You Make Me Feel” by Cobra Starship featuring Sabi.

This song also served as their first dance, which was a beautiful moment for both our couple and all of their guests. These dances were for sure cherished memories for the couple and their parents, and truly warmed the hearts of all in attendance.

Following the dinner portion of the evening, it was time to invite everyone to join the couple on the dance floor. DJ Shannon and DJ Tyler opened up the dance floor to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli, which was a great song for all the couples to dance and sing along to. Throughout the evening, they expertly curated the ultimate playlist for everyone to enjoy. The seamless transitions between wedding favorites, top 40s hits, and the bride and groom’s favorite songs ensured that every guest had moments to groove and celebrate the joyous occasion. Jenny & Ethan’s Bespoke Wedding at Galleria Marchetti in River West

Bride dancing with female family members to music by a Chicago DJ for Downtown Wedding, Paul Michaels Events

A little over six years ago, Jenny and Ethan met for the very first time. Fast forward to April 15th, we had the pleasure of helping them celebrate their marriage. They enlisted us as the best Chicago DJ for their downtown (River West) wedding. We made sure the couple’s big day was filled with music, dancing, and memories by providing our wedding base package.

From the moment guests arrived at Galleria Marchetti, they were greeted with music that set the tone for the celebration to come. The crowd admired the chuppah that adorned the ceremony site. While the ketubah signing was done prior to the ceremony, Jenny and Ethan’s personalized ceremony was beautiful and joyous to witness. As Ethan broke the glass with his foot, everyone shouted “mazel tov” to extend their congratulations and show their happiness for the newlyweds.

Following the ceremony, guests headed out to the foyer for cocktail hour while the venue staff did a room flip. Where guests entered for the ceremony was transformed to a beautiful reception space for the rest of the evening. For music, we took full advantage of the venue’s features by creating an ambiance that was both romantic and fun. Heading back into the transformed space, guests found their seats and awaited the introductions.

For Jenny and Ethan, this had to be the best day of their lives. The bridal party played up that message by making their introductions to “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors. Then, paying homage to when they first met, the bride and groom entered the room to “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. All eyes were on the bride and groom as they waltz on over to the dance floor and went right into their first dance.

The venue served a delicious dinner, which guests enjoyed as both Jenny and Ethan’s parents gave their toasts. After they stood to give a welcome speech, they went back to the dance floor with each of their parents and shared their respective dances with them. Everyone then joined the bride and groom on the floor to do the hora. This kicked off the rest of the evening on the right foot, as everyone was high energy and ready to dance the night away.

As the night went on, it became clear that Jenny and Ethan had excellent taste in music. DJ Paul and DJ Wes brought out the inner emo kid in everyone by playing songs from Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Green Day, and more. The floor was filled with people jumping around and singing their hearts out to their early 2000s favorites. Our DJs kept the transitions between songs seamless to keep the energy level high throughout the night. Finally, the night came to a close with Semisonic’s classic hit, “Closing Time”. The room joined in for one last song and shouted the lyrics at the top of their lungs.

All in all, Jenny and Ethan’s wedding was a beautiful celebration of love and music. Congratulations to the happy couple! From everyone at Paul Michaels Events, we’re honored to have been able to help create a night that their guests will never forget.
