Margaret and Ike’s wedding at the Bridgeport Arts Center in Chicago was an absolute showstopper, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to be a part of their epic celebration! From the very beginning, it was clear that this wasn’t going to be just any wedding—it was going to be an unforgettable party filled with electrifying moments, heartfelt memories, and nonstop fun. The Bridgeport Arts Center, with its chic exposed brick and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows, set the stage for an evening that was every bit as lively and beautiful as the love that brought Margaret and Ike together. As the best DJ company in Chicago, Paul Michaels Events was honored to create the music and atmosphere that made this dream wedding come to life.

The night kicked off with a bang as Margaret and Ike made their grand entrance to “Swag Surfin’” by F.L.Y., instantly igniting the room with a surge of energy. Guests were on their feet, clapping and cheering, and the excitement was contagious. We used our low laying fog effect for a TRUE grand entrance like none other! Instead of using this effect for a first dance, it truly gave their grand entrance the wow factor this couple was looking for! It was the perfect way to set the tone for a night that promised to be nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment the couple stepped through the doors, you could feel the magic in the air—everyone knew they were in for one heck of a party.

Margaret and Ike didn’t just want an ordinary wedding; they wanted extraordinary, and that’s what they got!

When it came time to hit the dance floor, DJ Shannon and DJ Paul took things to the next level, delivering a killer playlist that had guests grooving all night. Mixing old-school favorites with today’s hits, they kept the vibe fresh and the energy through the roof. The moment “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston came through the speakers, the dance floor exploded with excitement as guests of all ages sang their hearts out and danced like nobody was watching. But the night wasn’t all about fast beats and high energy. DJ Shannon and DJ Paul knew exactly when to dial it down, creating intimate moments with slow dances that allowed couples to share a special connection amidst the lively celebration. This seamless mix of upbeat tracks and sweet ballads ensured a dynamic, unforgettable music experience.

With Paul Michaels Events DJ Company at the helm, the Bridgeport Arts Center was transformed into a vibrant wonderland of sound and light. The uplighting created a captivating glow that perfectly complemented the venue’s industrial charm, while our expert sound setup kept the beats crisp and clear. The atmosphere was buzzing, the music was flawless, and every moment felt like a celebration of love, laughter, and sheer joy.

Margaret and Ike’s wedding was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing how incredible music, captivating lighting, and a lively crowd can come together to create magic. Aviva & Ben’s Harmonious Wedding at Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago’s Bridgeport

We might be halfway through 2023, but the weddings are still coming in strong! We recently had the honor of being a part of Aviva and Ben’s big day at the Skyline Loft in the Bridgeport Art Center. Their wedding was an exquisite and elegant affair, made even more memorable with the assistance of our premier Chicago DJ company. This wedding was made perfect with our wedding base package and premium photo booth.

The evening was filled with enchanting music and unforgettable moments, as we provided sound for every part of the night – from the ceremony to the cocktail hour and reception. DJ Shannon set the perfect tone for the processional with instrumental music that created a light and romantic atmosphere. As Aviva walked down the aisle, guests were captivated by the enchanting melodies, setting the stage for a truly magical ceremony.

After the bride and groom shared their “I Do’s”, guests went to mix and mingle during a lively cocktail hour. DJ Shannon continued to impress with his upbeat and fun music selection. The guests couldn’t resist tapping their feet and grooving to the vibrant tunes, creating an atmosphere filled with energy and excitement. The stage was set for an evening that would be cherished by all in attendance.

As everyone found their seats for the reception, it was clear that everyone was eager to give a round of applause for the bride and groom. A mixture of Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) and sounds of pure joy filled the air as Aviva and Ben made their introduction as husband and wife. They then quickly transitioned into the Mission Impossible photo game, where they ran to every table to try and get pictures with every guest. This ignited pure joy and togetherness, and absolutely turned up the energy of the room. After a delicious meal and some heartfelt toasts, Aviva and Ben shared their first dance to “Stuck with U” by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber. All eyes were on the couple as they swayed back and forth.

Following this, it was time to get the party started! DJ Shannon opened up the dance floor with the timeless wedding song “We Are Family.” The choice proved to be an instant hit, drawing guests of all ages to the dance floor. The joy and excitement were palpable as everyone came together to celebrate the newlyweds, creating a vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere. One of the highlights of the evening was DJ Shannon’s exceptional handling of the traditional Jewish dance, the “Horah.” With Aviva, Ben, and their families ready to go, he created a lively and spirited atmosphere that had everyone on their feet. Another memorable moment was Aviva’s bouquet toss with all the single ladies. “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper was the perfect soundtrack as the girls jumped in the air in hopes of catching the bouquet. Overall, the dance floor was so incredibly enjoyable that nobody wanted to leave! DJ Shannon kept the floor packed until the very end with all the best pop and R&B hits, as well as everyone’s favorite wedding classics. Everyone enjoyed dancing the night away to artists such as ABBA, Taylor Swift, the Jonas Brothers, and Kacey Musgraves.

Aviva and Ben’s wedding showcased the profound impact that music can have in creating a truly memorable and heartfelt experience. Congratulations to these newlyweds! We are so honored to have been part of their big day, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

We initially had our wedding planned for April 2020, but had to reschedule to October 2020, and then reschedule again to April 2021--damn you, COVID. Paul was more than flexible throughout the entire process and was more than just a DJ. He has so much great insight on all aspects of the wedding planning process. He keeps all of the other vendors organized and on the same page to ensure that our special day was pure magic. He is not one of those cookie cutter DJs from your cousin's wedding--he makes it all about you and takes the utmost care in delivering a truly amazing experience! The Paul Michaels Team (on our day included DJ Shannon) also goes above and beyond to make sure that the bride and groom, as well as the entire wedding party feels supported and that every guest has a great time!

Paul and co. were incredible. I first became aware of him through another wedding I attended, asked for his card, and kept onto it for another five years until my own wedding. He helped us plan our dream celebration, kept everybody throughout the day on task, and helped throw the most amazing party. To this day, I still hear how our wedding was the best people have ever attended, and that is 100% on Paul!
