Recently we provided DJ services for Courtney and Ryan for their wedding at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL. They were such a fun couple to partner with, partially because they are both in the music industry. Courtney is a band director, and Ryan is a manager of boat cruises in Chicago and works with many DJs. Paul Michaels Events came as a referral from one of Ryan’s DJs and we were so excited to work with this couple!
They had both their Lisle wedding ceremony and Chicagoland wedding reception was at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL. We provided our Elite Wedding package in addition to Ceremony Audio system, and Cocktail Hour Audio.
The event started with the ceremony. Unfortunately, the weather was looking dismal, so the call was made to move the ceremony into the Library, which was the back-up plan. But none-the-less, the ceremony was beautiful. Live musicians accompanied the wedding party for the prelude, recessional and sand ceremony. We provided the microphones for the officiant, bride and groom, as well as the readers. In hindsight, it was definitely the right call to move the ceremony indoors, since it down-poured outside while the guests and vendors were safe in the Library. From what we’ve heard, rain on your wedding day means good luck anyway!
Fortunately, the skies clear for the cocktail hour and the guests got to enjoy a beautiful cocktail hour outside. We provided outdoor cocktail hour audio by using our battery-powered speakers to allow us to provide audio in the outdoor space.
For the reception, we provided full-room uplighting, which was set to blush during dinner time. We also provided upgraded dance floor lighting in addition to the sound system. We announced the bridal party and bride and groom as they made their grand entrances into the reception. We had two fantastic speeches from the best man and maid of honor. After everyone was served, we started the night with the traditional first dances and then the dance floor opened!
The dance floor then took off. Since the couple of honor were so interested in music, they were very excited to share their music style with their guests. We played music in their favorite styles, which was mostly from 80s, 90s and 2000s pop.. The Morton Arboretum provided the guests the ability to enjoy the beautiful views of nature in combination with a great dance party!
They decided to end the night with one of our favorites “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” by Whitney Houston. We love ending the night with a favorite song because it creates such a memorable final moment and is a special way to end the night for the couple with their family and friends.
