My good friends (from college) Jill and Mitch tied the knot this past weekend at Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville. After the bridal party toured the suburban area taking some gorgeous pictures, we started the reception which was held at Meson Sabika in Naperville (one of my favorite venues).

This was a really special wedding to me, since there is a story behind it. I remember shortly after I had met Jill in 2008 (her freshmen year of college) she looked at me and told me that I was going to DJ her wedding. At that time, I brushed off the comment and said something along the lines of “Okay, sounds great”, assuming I’d never hear from her again. Little did I know that we’d stay friends all throughout my time in college, and eight years later I’d actually be DJing her wedding! Throughout their time dating I had gotten to know Mitch from his visits to our college, so when they asked me to work with them to deliver their special day, I couldn’t have been happier.

For their wedding, we provided both DJ and decor lighting services. We used pink uplighting (which looked amazing), and then also provided a screen and projector set up to play a photo montage created by Jenna (maid of honor) and Mitch. During my meetings with Jill and Mitch they specifically told me that they wanted their reception to remind them of college and the college parties they used to go to. They wanted to party from the first second to the last. Sadly, I had to let them down here and let them know that we had a few formalities to do (first dances, cake cutting, dinner, etc) but I’d do my best to deliver what they requested. We ended the night with a packed dance floor, and I can safely say that I delivered as requested!

Jill and Mitch – I hope your honeymoon in Antigua was incredible and I can’t wait to touch base with you when you get back! It was truly an honor to be able to work with you both and to be able to celebrate with you and your friends and family!
