We were so excited to finally get to DJ James and Megan’s Downtown Chicago Wedding! Megan and Jim have known about Paul Michaels Events for a few years now, since we DJed Jim’s twin brother’s wedding in 2017. There is nothing greater to us than referrals, especially within the family!
Megan and Jim originally scheduled their wedding for September 2020, but due to the coronavirus, they decided to postpone their wedding one year to October 2021. While it was a long wait, in the end they ended up with such an incredibly beautiful wedding, surrounded by their family and friends! DJ Paul and Assistant Evan were excited to celebrate with them on the rescheduled date.
Their Downtown Chicago wedding ceremony and reception both took place at the Kimpton Gray Hotel, which is located in Downtown Chicago (in the loop). The wedding started with a beautiful ceremony officiated by Pastor Kenneth in the Adler Room. The bridesmaids wore the wedding colors, Burgundy and English Rose, which looked fantastic.
After the wonderful ceremony, guests moved down the hall into the hotel’s club/lounge “Boleo” for the cocktail hour while the staff completed a room flip so that the Adler Room would be set for dinner. We provided full room uplighting in both event spaces. After guests moved back into the Adler Room, we started the event with the Bridal party introductions. The Bride and Groom joined the reception as newlyweds while we played “Good Life” by Kanye West. After dinner, guests moved back to Boleo for dancing, which was set up to be a club atmosphere.
During the dancing portion of the night, guests were on the dance-floor for the entire night! Boleo provided an awesome space for everyone to dance and we made sure the music was a mix of Megan and Jim’s favorites, which was a mix of current pop music, classic rock, 90s/00s, oldies and a bit of EDM. Paul Michaels Events also added had our Premium Photobooth, which guests enjoyed throughout the evening. Megan and Jim – Thank you for trusting us to provide the entertainment for your special day. We hope you had just as much fun as we did!
