Corporate events don’t always have to follow the same formula. Sometimes, the most memorable gatherings are the ones where teams get to let their guard down and enjoy a little unexpected fun. Recently, Paul Michaels Events had the pleasure of providing DJ and karaoke services at The Walden for a two-day corporate event with Hallow.

For Hallow’s two-day gathering, the space was transformed to support both professional presentations and an evening of lighthearted entertainment. We provided a 10-foot projection screen and projector for the daytime sessions. This setup allowed Hallow’s leadership to share presentations, videos, and guided reflections seamlessly with their team. With the audiovisual side covered, attendees could focus entirely on the content of the event. But the real transformation came at the end of the second day, when that same setup became the foundation for an incredible karaoke night.

For the karaoke portion of the event, we brought in our full karaoke package to ensure everything looked, sounded, and ran flawlessly. To make signups easy, we placed QR codes on each table, giving guests instant access to browse the song library, add themselves to the singing queue, and even check their spot in line. By the time karaoke officially kicked off, there were already 18 songs queued up and ready to go.

From the very first performance, the energy in the room was electric. The Hallow team didn’t hold back; guests jumped right in and kept the stage busy all night long. One of the best parts of karaoke at corporate events is how it brings people together. Whether it was duets between coworkers, teams cheering each other on, or audience sing-alongs when a crowd favorite came up, the night was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and applause. 

To make the evening even more enjoyable, Hallow treated their team to an ice cream cart after dinner. Between rounds of karaoke, guests could grab a sweet treat and then return to cheer on the next performer. It was a small touch that added to the festive, relaxed atmosphere and showed employees just how much they were appreciated.

Unlike a traditional DJ or live band performance, karaoke invites guests to be part of the show. It’s interactive, participatory, and endlessly fun. The holiday season is the perfect time to gather, reflect, and celebrate with those who make the year memorable. Recently, Paul Michaels Events had the privilege of partnering with a local Morgan Stanley office to host an unforgettable holiday party for their team and significant others. Held at the chic and modern R29 Lounge at The Franklin in Downtown Chicago, this event brought together lively music, spirited karaoke, and plenty of festive fun.

R29 at The Franklin, located in the vibrant heart of Downtown Chicago, provided an ideal setting for this celebration. With its sleek design, spacious layout, and contemporary vibe, the venue set the stage for a stylish evening filled with camaraderie and holiday cheer. Paul Michaels Events was thrilled to enhance the atmosphere with a combination of our DJ and newly upgraded karaoke services, creating a unique and dynamic entertainment experience tailored to the event.

To kick off the evening, DJ Paul Michaels filled the air with upbeat, energizing music as guests arrived and mingled. The playlist featured an eclectic mix of fun tracks designed to set the perfect festive tone and put everyone in the holiday spirit. About an hour and a half into the party, we transitioned into karaoke, seamlessly switching gears to add an exciting new layer to the celebration.

Our service always ensures that we will make sure to do something right, or we won’t do it at all. With this motto in mind, we recently upgraded our karaoke equipment to ensure that the experience is second to none, and this event marked the debut of our enhanced setup. Using a venue-provided TV screen to display lyrics (though we can provide screens when needed), guests had the opportunity to belt out their favorite songs with crystal-clear sound and professional-grade equipment.

One of the unique aspects of blending DJ and karaoke services is the flexibility it offers. Whenever there was a lull in the karaoke queue, DJ Paul Michaels easily transitioned back to playing music, keeping the energy high and ensuring there was never a dull moment. This combination of services catered to everyone in the room—whether they wanted to sing their hearts out, dance the night away, or simply enjoy the festive ambiance.

The result was an event that was lively, interactive, and memorable. Guests cheered each other on during karaoke performances, danced to their favorite tracks, and laughed as the evening unfolded. By the end of the night, the room was buzzing with the joy and camaraderie that only comes from a truly well-planned and well-executed holiday celebration.

Copley Memorial Hospital recently took the art of celebration to a whole new level, throwing an 80s-themed awards ceremony that had everyone feeling like they’d stepped straight into a music video. With a balmy 70-degree night as the perfect backdrop, the hospital community came together for an epic evening filled with music, laughter, and high-energy vibes. It was a well-deserved tribute to the healthcare heroes who give their all day in and day out, and with the legendary beats of the 80s providing the soundtrack, the night was truly a blast from the past. Paul Michaels Events was there to bring the magic, and trust us—the party did not disappoint!

The festivities kicked off during cocktail hour, and the waiting room was buzzing with excitement. Guests were greeted by an MTV-inspired backdrop that screamed retro cool, while a hallway filled with iconic arcade games like Mario, Galaga, and Ms. Pac-Man invited everyone to dive headfirst into nostalgia. The air was filled with laughter and chatter as healthcare professionals reminisced about their own glory days, taking a break from saving lives to rack up high scores on the arcade machines. It was the perfect mix of fun and familiarity, with the games serving as a reminder of their unstoppable spirit—much like Mario himself, they keep pushing forward no matter what.

Behind the scenes, DJ Jon was working his magic, curating the perfect 80s soundtrack to set the night on fire. After getting a little insider info from the CEO on his favorite 80s track, he had the perfect opener lined up: “Start Me Up” by The Rolling Stones. As the iconic guitar riff blasted through the speakers, the doors swung open and the guests were welcomed into an elegantly decked-out venue that seemed to pulse with the beat of the music. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric, setting the tone for a night that would be as unforgettable as it was exhilarating.

Once the awards were handed out and the last forkful of dessert had been enjoyed, the real fun began: the dance floor was officially open. And wow, did it deliver! DJ Jon kept the hits coming, with one 80s classic after another igniting the crowd and pulling even the most reserved guests out onto the floor. The CEO was channeling some serious backup dancer vibes, busting out moves that would’ve fit right into any 80s dance flick. And the surprise of the night? A top surgeon rocking out on stage like they’d just scored a record deal, proving that even the busiest professionals can find time to let loose.

When “Ghostbusters” echoed through the speakers, it was game over. The crowd erupted into cheers, and nearly everyone was belting out the lyrics, channeling their inner 80s superstar. For a moment, the challenges of everyday life seemed far away, and the room was filled with the pure joy of people who had come together to celebrate both their profession and their community.

More than just a throwback to an iconic decade, this 80s-themed bash was a celebration of achievement, resilience, and unity among the Rush Hospital family. Events like this show just how powerful music can be—it’s a universal language that can transcend any barriers, bringing people together for a night of shared joy and unforgettable memories.

DJ Jon and Paul Michaels Events knew just how to hit the right notes, blending nostalgic hits with personal touches that perfectly matched the vibe of the crowd. As the night wrapped up, the echoes of the 80s tunes lingered in the air, and there was already a buzz of excitement for next year’s festivities.
