As the curtain falls on our 2023 wedding season, we at Paul Michaels Events can’t help but reflect on the incredible moments we’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of. Closing out the season on a high note, we had the honor of providing our trusted wedding DJ services for our charming couple, Megan and Rob, at the elegant Hyatt Regency in Lisle, Illinois. It had to have been fate that brought these two together; though they knew each other from high school, there was a 25 year gap where they lost touch, and only reconnected 5 years ago at their 25th high school reunion. Fast forward to November 18th, our team gathered to help give them the celebration they’ve been waiting for. To make their wedding perfect, we provided ceremony services and our wedding elite package for their reception.

The stage for this unforgettable evening was set at the Hyatt’s picturesque Linden Pavilion, a stunning permanent tent that exuded an intimate charm. Friends and family gathered beneath its elegant canopy to witness the union of Megan and Rob. Their ceremony was extremely personalized and intimate, with their loved ones playing key roles to honor their unity. Both Megan and Rob’s mothers lit the pillar candles for the unity candle part of the ceremony. They also had their dear friend, Jennifer, officiate. Her heartfelt words added a unique touch to the proceedings, making it thoughtful and engaging. As the newlyweds exchanged their “I Do’s” and kiss, the sound that erupted in the space was equivalent to the fact that their love story was 25+ years in the making.

Following their ceremony, guests gathered into the Arbor Ballroom for the reception. Keeping the magic going, we kicked off the celebration by introducing the newlyweds to the upbeat and joyful tune of “Good Things” by BoDeans. The atmosphere was electric with joy and excitement as Megan and Rob took their first steps as a married couple, surrounded by the love and cheers of their nearest and dearest. As they made their entrance, they swiftly transitioned to sharing their first dance to the tune of “Sea of Love” by Honeydrippers. While a lovely meal was served from the hotel’s exquisite catering team, some toasts were shared to honor the bride and groom. Megan and Rob then played the “Mission Impossible” game, where the goal is to get as many photos with your guests as possible before the end of chosen song. 

Just before opening the dance floor for all, Megan and Rob shared a special dance with each of their parents to “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. In that moment, the dance floor was filled with such love. Once their dances concluded, it was time to fill the floor with even more love and invite everyone to join them. DJ Paul Michaels and Assistant Anton seamlessly transitioned the dance floor into the evening festivities. DJ Paul curated a musical journey that spanned generations and genres. From the groovy tunes of the 60s to the nostalgic hits of the 90s, the dance floor was alive with energy. Guests of all ages came together, creating an electric atmosphere that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Megan and Rob’s love.

We are deeply grateful to Megan and Rob for entrusting us with the soundtrack to their special day. It was truly an honor to be a part of such a memorable celebration. We couldn’t have asked for a better celebration to conclude our 2023 wedding season!
