#WendyDhruAWinner
We just completed our biggest wedding of the year at the Sheraton of Lisle for Wendy and Dhruv. This was a half Indian Wedding, where we followed South Asian wedding traditions, including having a Baraat outside in the morning where Dhruv (the groom) rode on his white horse to the bride’s home (in this case, another entrance of the hotel) as part of a procession. After the baraat, we continued on with the Indian Wedding Ceremony until about 1pm when the ceremony concluded, and guests joined the bride and groom for lunch at the hotel. Later in the evening, we began the reception. For DJ Paul Michaels and Assistant Tim, this was a full 24 hour work day. Both the ceremony area in the hotel atrium, and the reception hall were decorated by Yanni Design Studios, who did an incredible job with the backdrops and setting the scene for this wedding!
In the reception hall we provided a custom rig for our audio setup, including 4 subwoofers and 4 top speakers, full room interactive uplighting, and a screen and projector, as well as our normal lighting setup including two lighting totems and moving heads. In order to ensure that the audio distribution was perfect in all corners of the room (so speeches could be heard throughout) we provided two “fill” speakers in the corners which made it so the guests seated furthest from us could hear everything without us blasting out the ear drums of the people seated closest to our setup. In addition, we also provided a photobooth which stayed busy all night long.
Being a mixed marriage wedding, we played a great mix of both Indian music (mostly music from North India) as well as the typical “American” music that many may come to expect at weddings. Check out the pictures below for some great candid shots!
