Recently, DJ Paul Michaels had the honor to provide Kim and Alex with DJ services for their wedding at Harpors Vineyard in New Virginia, Iowa. Since this is out of our regular area (Chicagoland), this was a very special wedding. Alex and Kim first saw DJ Paul Michaels when he provided DJ services for Laura and Kendall’s wedding back in 2018. They had such a blast, they kept his business card until they booked him for their wedding in 2022! They opted to use our ceremony services, and go with our wedding elite package, which includes full room wireless uplighting. They also added our “Name-in-Lights” projection, which we projected into the floral display right above the couple’s seats.
They had the most beautiful wedding ceremony in the field right outside the reception area. Alex’s sister, Alaina, had the honor of reading some touching words. When it came time for Kim and Alex to read their vows to each other, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour, and then moved to the pavilion for the reception.
Paying homage to their alma mater, the bridal party entered the room to “Juicy Wiggle” by Redfoo (a newer tradition at Iowa State football and basketball events!). After the bride and groom’s introduction and some lovely speeches, Kim and Alex played the “Mission Impossible Photo Game”. Seeing them dart from table to table to get group photos with everyone definitely helped set the vibe for the rest of the evening. Plus, this was a great way to incorporate all their loved ones into the night. They successfully completed the challenge, and then everyone settled down to enjoy their tasty BBQ dinner.
Following dinner, Kim and Alex shared a beautiful first dance together. They then shared some incredibly special dances with their parents. Once the dance floor opened for everyone, the party didn’t stop! DJ Paul Michaels and Jamie made sure to play all the best artists that would get everyone moving. This included Kacey Musgraves, Beyonce, Lizzo, Dave Matthews Band, and a healthy mix of today’s Top 40. Everyone danced the night away with Paul and Jamie running the show.
