With every wedding we have the opportunity to be a part of, we find ourselves immersed in gratitude to get to play a key part in creating some wedding magic. Lauren and Daryl’s wedding was yet another example of this – set at the stunning Penthouse Hyde Park in Chicago, their evening was nothing short of magical. From the intimate ceremony to the lively reception, Paul Michaels Events DJ Company had the incredible honor of providing the soundtrack to their big day. Lauren and Daryl first met us at Rajesh and Susana’s wedding last year, where Daryl was actually one of Rajesh’s groomsmen. This time, of course, Rajesh was Daryl’s groomsman, and stood along side his friend to ensure he and Lauren had the best day ever.

The day began with a beautiful ceremony at the Penthouse Hyde Park, a venue that perfectly reflected the elegance and charm of Lauren and Daryl’s wedding. Guests were welcomed by the soothing sounds of a live pianist, whose melodies accompanied the processional and ceremony. The live music added a timeless touch to the proceedings, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere as Lauren and Daryl exchanged their vows. The serene sounds of the piano made the moment all the more emotional and heartfelt, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead.

As the ceremony came to a close, guests moved to the venue’s terrace for cocktail hour, where they enjoyed breathtaking views of Chicago along with drinks and conversation. To complement the relaxed atmosphere, Paul Michaels Events curated a playlist of smooth, jazzy classics that flowed seamlessly with the ambiance. The music set the stage for guests to unwind, soak in the skyline, and prepare for the evening’s festivities. The perfect blend of cool jazz and stunning views made cocktail hour an ideal transition into the night’s main event.

The reception was where the celebration truly kicked off. Instead of the traditional introductions for the wedding party, one of Daryl’s groomsmen, Alex, added a fun, personal twist by announcing the wedding party to “Sirius” by The Alan Parsons Project—the iconic Chicago Bulls intro song. This unexpected touch had guests buzzing with excitement and pride, perfectly setting the stage for the high-energy night to come. The crowd was immediately engaged, and it was clear that the evening would be one to remember.

Once the introductions were made, DJ Shannon took charge of the dance floor, starting things off with a group photo to get everyone involved. This fun moment helped break the ice and set the tone for a night full of dancing and celebration. Guests quickly made their way to the dance floor, and the energy was electric from the start.

One of the night’s highlights came when Daryl surprised everyone by stepping up to the DJ booth. His impromptu DJ set had guests cheering and dancing with excitement, adding a unique personal element to the night. The crowd loved it, and Daryl’s unexpected DJ debut only added to the fun and excitement of the evening. DJ Shannon kept the momentum going with a perfectly curated playlist that catered to everyone’s musical tastes, ensuring the dance floor stayed packed until the very last song.
