The last event of this very busy weekend was a spectacular Sunday Wedding at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL. Sunday weddings are particularly common for Jewish Wedding Receptions. DJ Shannon and Assistant Evan provided Ceremony and Cocktail Hour Audio services as well as the Wedding Elite Package for the Reception.

Sara and Asher had a traditional Jewish Ceremony in the Rose Terrace. We provided the Rabbi officiating the ceremony with a headset so that her hands were free for all of the rituals as well as a wireless handheld microphone for the wedding vows. When the ceremony finished, guests filtered into the beautiful English Walled Garden for the Cocktail hour. We used bluetooth, battery-powered speakers for Cocktail hour, which allowed us to cover an area of the garden that did not have easy access to power. This allowed us to put the speakers in the location that provided the best audio coverage and not based on the location of the outlets or extension cords.

The guests then made their way into the McGinley Pavilion for the wedding reception. In addition to the sound system, we provided uplighting on the edges of the pavilion to add color to the tent as well as upgraded dance-floor lighting. The bridal party entered to the song “I’m A Believer” by Smash Mouth, each strutting and showing off their dance moves before finding their seats. Then, the guests all cheered as Sara and Asher entered the venue, being announced as a married couple for just the second time!

In order to get all of the table photos completed, we used what we call a “Mission Impossible game”. All of the tables posed for a picture, but left space for the bride and the groom. Then, DJ Shannon played the Mission Impossible theme song as Sara and Asher ran from table to table to pose for a picture. After some first dances and the anniversary/generation dance, we kicked the night off with the Torah, a traditional Jewish dance that takes place at all weddings. Sara and Asher were both lifted in chairs celebrating their new union!

As the dance floor opened for general dancing, the bridesmaids and groomsmen changed into their personally monogrammed Converse. With their dancing shoes on, guests and the bridal party took to the dance floor! Guests danced late into the night (even for a Sunday Wedding), enjoying Asher and Sara’s mix of Top40, Country and Taylor Swift, with a splash of some wedding favorites.

Thank you Sara and Asher for trusting Paul Michaels Events with your special day. We had a blast celebrating your love and your wedding was gorgeous!
