Alesha & Shawn’s Indian Wedding at Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove, Illinois

Bride and groom with friends and family behind them, with light sticks and hands in the air, having the best time with music and DJ services provided by Chicago area DJ company, Paul Michaels Events
It was love at first sight for Alesha and Shawn. Our two doctors met on Hinge, and before too long, made the move to plan their perfect wedding. Of course, they reached out to Paul Michaels Events to be part of their day, as they heard that we were the best Chicago area DJ company. Hands down, their ceremony and reception were one of the most spectacular we’ve ever had the privilege to be a part of! To make this day complete, we provided them with our wedding VIP package from our DJ services.

The day started by heading over to the premiere Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove. Guests arrived a bit early to witness the baraat, a celebratory wedding procession that’s very popular for Indian weddings. Following the baraat came Alesha and Shawn’s beautifully elegant ceremony. The couple’s love for each other radiated from their faces as they exchanged vows and rings. It was such a special moment that all their friends and family members were grateful to witness. After their ceremony, everyone engaged in a celebratory cocktail hour while the ceremony site had a room flip.

Once it was time to head back into the reception, guests walked into the ballroom to see it transformed for the rest of the evening. The reception began with some of the most grand introductions. Alesha’s bridesmaids and Shawn’s groomsmen walked in to each of their own songs (“Where Them Girls At” and “We Dem Boys”, respectively). Next came Alesha’s sister, both of Shawn’s sisters, and each of their families, who had each of their own songs to dance to on the dance floor. After these groups came Alesha’s parents and Shawn’s parents. Finally, it was time for the stars of the show to grace us with their presence. Once the bride and groom entered, they were met by a sea of loved ones who were there to celebrate their marriage. They had their cake cutting, then shared a magical first dance with our “dancing on the clouds” effect.

Some beautiful speeches were given by the mother of the groom and mother of the bride. Shawn’s sisters and Alesha’s maid of honor/sister also shared some lovely toasts. Following this were the traditional dances with each of their parents, as well as a dance from Alesha’s nieces and nephews. Alesha also shared a dance with her bridesmaids, which was so special to witness! After this, the venue provided a delicious dinner buffet for everyone to enjoy.

Once dinner concluded, it was time for everyone to start dancing. As soon as DJ Paul announced the dance floor was open, it only took seconds for the it to fill up. He started off with two well known Indian slow songs, then kicked things up with a well known Bhangra song. The night continued with some of the couple’s favorites, such as some Drake, Travis Scott, Kygo, and some classic throwbacks. It was clear this crowd came ready to party, as everyone danced the night away. You could tell that Alesha and Shawn were so happy with how everything turned out – especially the dancing part of the evening. DJ Paul made sure the music was perfect for the event and that the energy matched.

We were so happy to be a part of Alesha and Shawn’s wedding day, and thank them for trusting us to help make it fantastic. Reach out to us if you’re looking for a Chicago area DJ company that will make your day amazing, too!

Mazel Tov Malachi!

Our A-Team for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs in Chicago recently partied with Malachi and his family and friends at Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse in River North

Malachi did an awesome job reciting his Torah portions earlier in the day at Emanuel Congregation. As a result, some celebrations were definitely in order!  As the guests arrived, we played several fun games with Malachi and his friends, and the adults enjoy some time during a cocktail hour in the next room. There was some very fierce, but still friendly competition with the hula-hoop game and the scavenger hunt was something that should be remembered for years to come.

As guests entered the main celebration are, DJ Paul and DJ Terry opened the dance floor for them. Dancer Jeffrey and Dancer Jamie led the group by sharing a few follow-along dance moves. Malachi welcomed all the guests, and his brothers and parents gave excellent speeches. While the parents partook in dinner, we played a game of huggy-bear with the kids. If you’re not familiar with that game, it’s a great way to break the ice among kids. It’s similar to musical chairs, but with hugs. You should definitely Google it if you’re not familiar with it.

Once everyone was fed, the dance floor kicked off again with the Hora! Malachi was lifted in the chair by some guests…including his mom!

The night continued with Malachi’s awesome photo montage and a nail-biting game of Coke-and-Pepsi. When we weren’t playing games, Malachi, his friends, and the adults were on the dance floor the entire night!
