While some people were out trick or treating this Halloween weekend, others were celebrating the happiest days of their lives. This was certainly the case for Taylor and Matt. Some might say that these two planned a wedding that brought all the elements together. They held their wedding reception at Elements at Water Street, located inside of Hotel Indigo in Naperville, Illinois. As a Chicago suburbs wedding DJ, we had the honor of providing DJ services for this occasion. This included everything included in our wedding elite package, which also included full room uplighting.

After nearly 11 years of loving each other, it was time for Taylor and Matt to take their relationship to the next level and tie the knot. This wedding was a long time coming for these high school sweethearts, and everyone knew it. Their ceremony was full of the most heartwarming love and didn’t leave any dry eyes – or so we imagine, as they said their vows under the roof of St. Peter Catholic Church in Geneva, Illinois. What we do know is that everyone was in an incredible mood when they arrived to the reception. Why wouldn’t they be, after all? Two of their favorite people in the world finally said “I Do”!

As everyone gathered in the Reception Hall, it came time to make the grand introductions of the evening. First up was the bridal party, who consisted of a mix of Taylor and Matt’s old high school friends, college friends, and some family members. As each member of the bridal party stepped into the room to Bruno Mars’s “24k Magic”, the room filled with more and more applause. Finally came time for the newlyweds to make their appearance as husband and wife, which garnered the most applause of the evening. Taylor and Matt showed everyone that “Love Never Felt So Good” as they walked into their reception and went straight into their cake cutting.

The venue provided a delicious plated dinner that everyone throughly enjoyed. As guests were eating, the maid of honor and best man provided their speeches for Taylor and Matt. They shared the story of how these two first met – he went to Marmion Academy, she went to Rosary High School (both in Aurora, Illinois). They met freshman year, started dating junior year, and have been inseparable ever since. It was so special hearing more about their love story and feeling the love being reciprocated by their friends and family. Taylor and Matt then thanked everyone for not only being there in the room that evening, but for sticking with them throughout their entire journey together.

After the traditional first dances, DJ Shannon opened the dance floor for everyone. It didn’t take long for everyone to gather to the middle of the room – Taylor and Matt’s loved ones certainly came to party! While most of the crowd got their dancing shoes on, Taylor and Matt’s old high school friends and college friends gathered to take some group photos. When they all came back, DJ Shannon made sure to lay out some of the couple’s favorite tunes. Some country and rock songs got the crowd swaying, while the best Top 40 hits and classic hip hop throwbacks kept the energy levels high. Eventually, a late night snack table opened up with a taco bar, sliders, and Lou Malnati’s pizza to keep everyone fueled. “Mr. Brightside” played as the last song of the evening, but after begging DJ Shannon to play one more song, the night ended with everyone singing along to “Closing Time”.

Taylor and Matt’s wedding was a celebration of love, family and friendship. Congratulations to these two! We are so happy for these two and wish them nothing but happiness in their next chapter together.
