This past weekend, we had the incredible honor of providing our exceptional Wedding DJ services for Desi and Chris at the prestigious Union League Club in Downtown Chicago. From the very first meeting, Desi and Chris were an absolute joy to work with, and we were committed to making their wedding day as extraordinary as they had always dreamed. With meticulous planning and careful attention to every detail, Paul Michaels Events DJ Company was there every step of the way to ensure that their special day was nothing short of magical.

The day began with a stunning outdoor ceremony at the serene Cancer Survivors Garden in Maggie Daley Park, a location as unique as the love shared by Desi and Chris. For this special occasion, we deployed our all battery-powered ceremony setup, which provided crystal-clear sound in the garden’s natural environment. The flexibility of our equipment allowed us to seamlessly adapt to the outdoor setting, ensuring that every word spoken during the ceremony was heard clearly by all in attendance. The ceremony coincided with the final moments of the Chicago Air and Water Show, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for guests as they witnessed jets soaring overhead before the skies quieted, allowing the couple to exchange their vows in peace. It was a truly beautiful moment as Desi and Chris declared their love for one another surrounded by the lush greenery of the park and the support of their closest friends and family.

After the heartfelt ceremony, guests were shuttled to the Union League Club, where the celebration continued in grand style. The Union League Club, known for its rich history and luxurious surroundings, provided the perfect backdrop for this special occasion. The cocktail hour was held in the elegant Crystal Room on the 5th floor, an exquisite space that perfectly complemented the sophisticated tone of the event. To enhance the atmosphere, we provided a tailored cocktail hour setup, featuring classic wedding background music that reflected the couple’s style and the timeless elegance of the venue. Guests mingled, sipped on signature cocktails, and enjoyed the refined ambiance as they anticipated the evening ahead.

As the evening progressed, the festivities moved upstairs to the Lincoln Ballroom, a stunning space that was brought to life with our full room uplighting and dynamic moving head lights mounted on totems. The room was transformed into an enchanting setting, with every detail carefully curated to reflect the couple’s vision. Our sound system was expertly tailored to the room’s acoustics, ensuring that every beat of the music resonated perfectly throughout the space, creating an atmosphere that was both lively and elegant.

After a series of heartfelt speeches and formalities, the night took an unexpected and delightful turn with a surprise performance by “Those Funny Little People,” arranged by Chris’s parents. The entertaining act brought smiles and laughter to all, setting the tone for the high-energy dance party that was about to begin. DJ Paul Michaels kicked off the dancing with the traditional horo dance, a Bulgarian tradition that had everyone on their feet and moving in unison. The dance floor quickly filled up, and from that moment on, it remained packed as DJ Paul kept the energy high, spinning a mix of hits that kept everyone dancing until the very last song.

In addition to our DJ services, we also provided one of our attended photobooths, which was a huge hit with the guests. The photobooth featured a custom overlay on the printed images, giving guests a personalized keepsake to remember the night by. Guests also had the option to send their photos via SMS or email, making it easy to share memories from this unforgettable evening.
